Lavish Images for Life
I am the #1 Google reviewed portrait photographer in Davis
After travelling around the world in my 20s (three years, five continents), I now live in Davis with my family. I’m a desert native, originally from Coachella, in southern California.
Ask me about my white wolf incident from when I was in the high Canadian Arctic, or my years as a counterterrorism intelligence officer in Washington DC. I’ve crossed part of the south Pacific in a motorboat, written a book of poetry, speak professional Spanish, am a certificated California teacher, avid backpacker and wildlife observer. MA from Middlebury, BA from Bennington, Arts Diploma from the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Shooting with me is a cinematic experience.
Sitting and watching the full moon rise over the desert with my children is the best experience I’ve ever had, especially listening to the coyotes.
Words to describe me would be funny, brave, hungry, and curious about EVERYTHING.

My specialty is in dynamic, movement-centered photography that shows a person for who they are. My words to live by are the words of the comic Steve Martin: “Be so good they cannot ignore you.”
Artist influences: the Dutch Masters (painters such as Vermeer, Rembrandt), photographers such as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon, Elliott Erwitt, Trent Parke, Matt Black, Sebastiao Salgado, Harry Gruyaert, Jean Gaumy, Bob Carlos Clarke, Alex Webb, David Yarrow, Gueorgui Pinkhassov. Basically any artists who play with the airy complexities between light and darkness. Beethoven’s music, of course. :)
